This guide will walk you through the steps to configure the TEG firewall module, allowing you to block specific ports and disable ICMP Timestamp (ping) responses.
Step 1: Access the Module Configuration Page
-
Login to the TEG web interface.
 -
Navigate to the firewall module's configuration page by clicking Settings menu on left and then selecting Firewall under Modules.

Step 2: Enter the Module Name
-
In the "Name" field, enter the desired name for your firewall module. By default, this field is set to "Firewall."

Step 3: Block Specific Ports
-
In the "Block specific ports" section, you can enter the ports you wish to block.
-
Ports should be separated by commas.
 -
Example: To block ports 22 (SSH), 25 (SMTP), and 443 (HTTPS), you would enter:
22, 25, 443.
 -

Step 4: Disable ICMP Timestamp (ping)
-
To enhance security, you can disable ICMP Timestamp responses.
-
Check the box labeled "Disable ICMP Timestamp (ping)".

Disabling ICMP Timestamp responses prevents attackers from determining the exact time on your machine, which can help protect against time-based attacks.
 -

Step 5: Save Your Configuration
-
Once you have entered the desired settings, click the blue "SAVE" button at the bottom right corner of the page.
 -
If you wish to discard your changes, click the "CANCEL" button at the bottom left.
 -
To delete the module entirely, click the red "DELETE MODULE" button at the top right of the page.
